What we collect
- If you create a member account (free or paid), we collect the email address you sign up with; it is used to sign you in (via emailed login links) and to deliver your notes. Our site and membership system are hosted by Ghost(Pro) (Ghost Foundation), which stores your account email and delivers our emails, and may keep standard server logs (IP address, user-agent) briefly for security and operations. Browsing without an account collects no personal data directly.
- Payment and billing details for paid subscriptions are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your card data.
What we do not collect
- No advertising trackers. No third-party analytics with cross-site identifiers.
- No payment card data; Stripe handles billing for paid subscriptions.
- No behavioral profiling for ad targeting.
How we use it
We use your subscription email to deliver the daily note and occasional service messages, and any email you contact us from to respond to support. Billing runs through Stripe. Ghost(Pro) and Stripe operate under their own privacy policies as our service providers; we share member data with no one else, do not sell personal data, and do not share it with advertisers.
Your rights
You can cancel your subscription at any time, and request export or deletion of your data, by emailing hello@morningowl.io. EU-based readers have the rights granted by GDPR; California-based readers have the rights granted by CCPA.
Cookies
The website sets functional cookies only: a session cookie that keeps members signed in. It sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Checkout is handled by Stripe under its own cookie and privacy policies. Our public Telegram, Discord, and X channels operate under their own policies.
